Chemical Peels in Tampa, FL

You could be suffering from an uneven skin tone, spotted or wrinkled skin due to aging, smoking or continued exposure to the sun. Added to this, acne could give you scars on the face as well. If any of that describes the skin on your neck, face or hands, you could opt for a chemical peel. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Soler performs all his procedures and treatments, unlike most surgeons, including chemical peels. When you schedule an appointment with Dr. Soler, you are treated by him and only him. Dr. Soler cares for patients in Tampa and in all surrounding areas of Southwest, FL such as Clearwater and St. Petersburg.

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical solution is used in the process of chemical peel which peels to leave behind smooth, fresh skin. Several different formulas are used during a chemical peel and are adjusted according to individual needs.

There are three types of peels used:

  • A light chemical peel to treat dry skin, acne, uneven pigmentation and fine wrinkles.
  • A medium peel for the treatment of acne scars, uneven skin tone and deep wrinkles.
  • A deep chemical peel is required for deep wrinkles, blotches, damage due to excessive sun exposure and pre-cancerous growths.

What can I expect from a chemical peel?

The results of a chemical peel treatment vary depending on the type of peel used. We use a medium 35% TCA peel.

  • The Light Chemical Peel – there is a subtle change with the initial treatment, but this glow improves with subsequent treatments.
  • The Medium Chemical Peel – the skin looks fresh and smooth instantly
  • The Deep Chemical Peel – the results are dramatic, but the recovery period is the longest.

How long is recovery from a chemical peel?

The recovery period also depends upon the type of peel being used. With the light peel, you may experience some stinging, redness, irritation and flaking of the skin. A deep peel will require sedation and activities are restricted for a period of about 2 weeks. You can discuss the type of peel and the recovery time with Dr. Soler.

What is the cost of a chemical peel?
